TEENAGERS RETREAT

Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ Monastery
Presents

A Retreat for Teenage Girls (ages 13 to 18)

 "Faith Unashamed"

This presentation is about the calling to do mission work in the Orthodox Church. We will learn about examples of mission work in the history of the Orthodox Church, and see how we can begin our mission work right in our own communities. My prayer is that you will be inspired to be a local missionary following the presentation. I will also include examples of my own missionary work in Ethiopia and Albania.
Guest Speaker: Katherine Saclarides -- Kathryn was born in Chicago, IL. She majored in Anthropology and Spanish at Vanderbilt University and recently completed a Masters in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She worked with the Red Cross in Spain for 2 years, after which she moved to San Francisco and served at the Raphael House, an Orthodox homeless shelter. Over the past two years she has worked with the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) in Albania, and International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) in Ethiopia. Currently Kathryn is the supervisor of a mental health clinic for immigrant families in Cicero, IL. She specializes in violence prevention and crisis intervention with high-risk youth.

“Music in Orthodox Worship” Class Instructor: Gabrielle Bronzich – Gabrielle received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Church Music at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1992. She received her Master’s Degree in Organ and Choral Conducting from the University of North Texas in 1996. She is entering her twentieth year of work as a church music minister and has worked in many different church positions in Alabama, Mississippi, and North Texas between 1991 and the present time. Gabrielle was received into the Holy Orthodox Church in 2004, and has been serving as the Minister of Music at St. Sava Orthodox Church since 2005.
